What failed
A seal, a solenoid or a sensor is a repair. Burnt clutches or damaged hard parts are a rebuild. The diagnosis settles this, and it is the single biggest factor.

A rebuild normally includes a torque converter and a cooler flush. Skipping them is cheaper on paper and expensive later.

Repair, rebuild or replace: which is cheaper?
The cheapest option is the one that fixes the actual fault and does not have to be done twice.

It depends on the unit, the vehicle and the parts it needs. We quote a rebuild after a diagnosis, in writing, and we tell you if a repair or a replacement would serve you better.
Is it cheaper to rebuild or replace a transmission?
A rebuild is usually the better value when your unit's hard parts are sound. Replacement wins when the case is damaged or parts are unavailable. Both numbers go on the estimate so you can compare.
Do you give estimates over the phone?
We can talk through the symptom and what it usually points to, but a real estimate needs the diagnosis. Florida requires a written estimate before repair work, and ours carries our registration number MV52365.
How long will my car be in the shop?
It depends on the job and parts availability. The expected time is on the written estimate, and we call if it changes.
